Grand Tree Plantation Program : On the auspicious occasion of Harela Festival, a symbol of Uttarakhand’s rich cultural and environmental heritage, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun organized a grand tree plantation program with a pledge for environmental conservation and green development.
The program was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Deshdeepak, Registrar Mr. Khalid Hasan, Dean Academics & IQAC Director Prof. Manmohan Gupta, Assistant Director of the Department of International Students & Global Relations Mr. Raman Krishna Kimothi, and other officials. They planted fruit-bearing and shade-providing saplings near the Herbal Garden and the premises of Paramhansa Yogananda Subharti College & Hospital of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences.
In his address, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor said that Harela Festival is not just a traditional celebration, but a symbol of our faith, sensitivity, and responsibility towards nature. Tree plantation is our collective responsibility towards providing future generations with a clean, safe, and balanced environment. Every citizen should take a pledge to plant more and more trees along with ensuring their conservation, only then will the objective of environmental protection be meaningful.
He also mentioned the various public welfare programs run by the Founder of Subharti Group and Chairman of the University, Hon’ble Prof. (Dr.) Atul Krishna, in the areas of environmental protection, public welfare, and social causes. He said that under his visionary leadership and guidance, the University is continuously working for the holistic development of society by imbibing the core mantra of “Education, Health, Service, and Nationalism.”

Grand Tree Plantation Program He further added that inspired by the Chairman, every student in the University is being taught the subject “Rashtra Bodh” [National Consciousness]. Through this, awareness is being developed among students about patriotism, sacrifice, dedication, and the inspiring lives and ideals of the great revolutionaries of Uttarakhand. Such initiatives play a significant role in strengthening values like dedication to the nation, social responsibility, and environmental conservation among students.
During the program, Deans, Professors, Officials, Employees, and Students of various faculties and institutions of the University planted saplings in their respective campuses and took a collective pledge for environmental conservation and the creation of a green campus.
On this occasion, Administrative Officer Dr. Ravindra Pratap Singh, Secretary of the Culture Department Mr. Vinay Semwal, Dean of Science & Research Director Dr. Sandeep Dhyani, Dean of Arts & Social Sciences Dr. Imran Khan, Dean of Paramedical Dr. Anirban Patra, Dr. Pratibha Juyal, Dr. Pushpa Dhyani, Prof. Nitika Kaushal, NSS Coordinator Mr. Pradeep Mahara, Shubham, Aditya, Rajat, Sharad, Rajdeep Rana, Vivek Chauhan, Suraj, Ravi Kant, horticulture staff, Ms. Sapna, along with members of the Culture Department, Deans of various faculties, professors, officials, and employees were present.
After the program, Deans, Professors, Officials, Employees, and Students of various faculties and institutions of the University planted saplings in their respective campuses and expressed their commitment towards environmental conservation, building a green campus, and sustainable development.
