Newly Admitted Students Introduced to Academic Excellence, Values, National Consciousness and Global Perspective

Dehradun, August 19, 2026: The second day of the three-day “Deeksharambh 2026 – Student Orientation Program” was organized today, August 19, 2026, at the Lalitaditya Auditorium, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun. The program aims to ensure a smooth, positive, and inspiring start to university life for newly admitted students. The event was conducted in a dignified and enthusiastic atmosphere.

On the second day, newly admitted students from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Buddhist Studies, and Faculty of Hotel Management participated enthusiastically.

The Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Vivek Tiwari, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Swami Vivekananda Subharti University. He was welcomed and felicitated on behalf of the university family with a stole and a sapling.

The event was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Desh Deepak and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Dr. Pramod Kumar Sharma. Both welcomed the newly admitted students into the university family and extended their best wishes for a bright future.

In his address, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Desh Deepak said that admission to the university marks the beginning of a significant new journey in students’ lives. He motivated students to make discipline, values, moral principles, hard work, and social responsibility an integral part of their lives along with education. He emphasized that the objective of the university is not merely to award degrees, but to develop students into knowledgeable, cultured, self-reliant, sensitive, and responsible citizens.

Prof. Manmohan Gupta, Dean Academics and Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, apprised students about the university’s academic system, quality education, academic discipline, and excellence in higher education. He highlighted the importance of regular study, time management, interaction with faculty, and active participation in university academic activities.

Mr. Raman Krishna Kimothi, Member, Department of Culture and Assistant Director, International Students and Global Relations Department, introduced students to Subharti’s core philosophy of “Rashtra Bodh se Rashtra Bhakti – From National Consciousness to Patriotism.” He urged students to understand their responsibilities towards the nation, society, and humanity, and to connect education with character building, social responsibility, and service to the nation.

A special session on “Rashtra Bodh – National Consciousness” was held, through which students were connected with Indian culture, national unity, patriotism, and a sense of duty towards the nation. Students were encouraged to remain aware of India’s glorious history, Indian culture, and national values, and to contribute positively to nation-building.

Prof. Neelima Chauhan, Dean, informed students about the university’s structure, various academic and co-curricular activities, facilities, and opportunities available to students.

The Faculty of Education provided essential information regarding university rules and regulations, discipline, and institutional systems. The Chief Proctor addressed students on anti-ragging awareness and motivated them to maintain a safe, respectful, and positive academic environment.

Mr. Pradeep Mahara, Coordinator, National Service Scheme (NSS), familiarized students with NSS activities and various opportunities for social service, and emphasized developing a sense of responsibility and service towards society.

Mrs. Poonam Kaushik, Controller of Examinations, provided information on the university’s examination system, evaluation process, examination-related rules, and important guidelines.

Dr. Jeevan Asha, Director, was also present on the occasion. She encouraged the newly admitted students and extended her best wishes for their bright academic and personal future.

The program was conducted by Ms. Kavita Nainwal, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and Ms. Anjali Upadhyay, Faculty of Fine Arts and Fashion Design. Both ensured the smooth and effective conduct of the various activities.

At the conclusion of the program, the Dean, Student Welfare delivered the vote of thanks and encouraged students to make the most of the academic, cultural, social, and co-curricular opportunities available at the university, and to move forward in their academic journey with discipline, values, and excellence.

On this occasion, Registrar Mr. Khalid Hasan, Prof. Nitika Kaushal, Deans of various faculties, Heads of Departments, faculty members, officers, staff, and newly admitted students were present.

The second day of “Deeksharambh 2026” proved to be significant for newly admitted students in terms of academic direction, values, discipline, national consciousness, and personality development. Through the program, students were given the message that the university is not just a place to obtain a degree, but an important center for developing knowledge, skills, values, discipline, national consciousness, and leadership qualities.

Various orientation and motivational sessions for newly admitted students from other faculties will also be organized on the final day of the three-day “Deeksharambh 2026” program.
