Rajesh Chandra Delivers Lecture on ‘Meditation in Daily Life’; Dr. Neelima Chauhan Welcomes Him
Dehradun. The Mahaprajapati Gautami Subharti School of Buddhist Studies at Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun, organised a special lecture on ‘Meditation in Daily Life’ at the Lalitaditya Auditorium. Meditation teacher and Buddhist scholar Mr. Rajesh Chandra spoke to the students about the relevance of meditation in daily life, simple methods of practice, and its role in maintaining mental and emotional balance.

Mr. Rajesh Chandra said that meditation should not be confined merely to spiritual practice but should become a part of everyone’s daily life. Regular meditation helps strengthen inner resilience and can reduce stress, improve concentration, and support mental well-being. He said that in the present era of a fast-paced lifestyle and increasing mental pressure, meditation is an effective means of maintaining mental stability and balance in life.
Explaining practical methods of meditation, he said that no complicated process is required. Sitting comfortably in a quiet environment, keeping the body still, and focusing attention on the breath are simple ways to begin meditation. He also introduced the students to different meditation techniques and guided them through practical exercises.
He said that students often face various forms of mental pressure related to studies, competition, and their future. Regular meditation can help them become more aware of their thoughts, develop concentration, and deal with challenging situations in a more balanced manner.

At the beginning of the programme, Dean of the Mahaprajapati Gautami Subharti School of Buddhist Studies, Dr. Neelima Chauhan, welcomed Mr. Rajesh Chandra by presenting him with a sapling. Students of the department also presented a Buddhist sutta on the occasion. She said that along with academic education, promoting mental peace, self-discipline, and positive thinking is essential for the holistic development of students. She added that meditation has held a special place in the Indian knowledge tradition and that connecting it with the needs of modern life and introducing it to students is the need of the hour.
The programme was conducted by Advisor Dr. Savhat Sander. He said that regular practice of meditation and mindfulness can help students understand themselves better and face life’s challenges with patience and balance.
Dr. Sandeep Dhyani, Priyanka, Ankush Gaurian, Deepak, Dr. Bhavana, faculty members, and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
