Will NEET UG 2026 Registration Begin Today? Check Details Here

New Delhi: Thousands of medical aspirants across India are eagerly waiting for the start of the NEET UG 2026 registration process. As the academic session progresses and board examinations approach, one question continues to dominate search trends and student discussions: Will NEET UG 2026 registration begin today?

As of today, there is no official confirmation from the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding the exact start date of the NEET UG 2026 application process. However, based on previous years’ trends and current expectations, the registration window is likely to open very soon.

Here is a detailed look at the current status, expected timeline, and what aspirants should do while waiting for the official announcement.

Has NEET UG 2026 Registration Started Today?

As per the latest available information, NEET UG 2026 registration has not officially begun today. The official NEET portal has not yet activated the application link, and no formal notification has been issued by NTA announcing the start of registrations.

Students are advised not to rely on unofficial claims circulating on social media or messaging platforms suggesting that the registration has already begun. Until NTA releases an official notice, the application process remains pending.

Why Is There So Much Anticipation Around the Registration Date?

NEET UG is the only national-level entrance examination for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BVSc, and other undergraduate medical courses across India. With more than 20 lakh candidates expected to appear, the registration date becomes a critical milestone for aspirants.

Over the past few years, NEET UG registrations have typically begun in early to mid-February, which is why students are closely tracking updates around this time.

Expected NEET UG 2026 Registration Timeline (Tentative)

While the official dates are still awaited, based on past trends, the tentative schedule may look like this:

Release of official notification: Early February 2026
Start of online registration: Mid-February 2026 (expected)
Last date to apply: Early March 2026
Correction window: March 2026
Admit card release: April 2026
NEET UG 2026 exam date: May 2026 (tentative)

It is important to note that these dates are indicative only and subject to change once the NTA publishes the official schedule.

What to Expect Once Registration Begins

Once the registration process starts, candidates will be required to complete the application process online. The form will include multiple steps such as:

New candidate registration
Filling personal and academic details
Selecting exam cities
Uploading photographs and signatures
Paying the application fee
Final submission and confirmation

The application process is completely online, and no offline forms are accepted.

Documents Aspirants Should Keep Ready

While waiting for the registration to begin, students are strongly advised to keep the following documents ready to avoid last-minute issues:

Recent passport-size photograph (as per guidelines)
Scanned signature
Valid ID proof (Aadhaar or equivalent)
Class 10 certificate (for date of birth verification)
Class 12 details (or appearing status)
Category certificate (if applicable)
PwD certificate (if applicable)

Ensuring that all documents are updated and clearly scanned will make the application process smooth and error-free.

Important Advisory for Candidates

Students should be cautious and follow these key advisories:

Do not trust unofficial websites or fake registration links
Avoid sharing personal details with unknown sources
Apply only through the official NEET portal once registration opens
Double-check all information before final submission
Save and print the confirmation page for future reference

Even though the registration window usually remains open for several weeks, early application is always recommended to avoid technical glitches or last-day rush.

What If Registration Does Not Begin Today?

If the registration does not start today, candidates should not panic. The delay does not impact the exam preparation timeline. NTA often releases the notification without much prior notice, and the application window is generally kept open long enough for all eligible candidates to apply.

Students should focus on revision, mock tests, and strengthening weak areas while keeping a close watch on official announcements.

Why Official Confirmation Matters

Every year, rumours about NEET registration dates circulate widely. However, only information released by NTA should be considered authentic. Applying based on unofficial updates can lead to confusion, missed deadlines, or incorrect submissions.

The official notification will clearly mention:

Eligibility criteria
Application fee
Exam pattern
Syllabus
Important dates
Instructions for candidates

Final Words

To summarise:

NEET UG 2026 registration has not officially started today
No confirmation has been issued yet by the National Testing Agency
Registration is expected to begin soon, likely in mid-February
Candidates should stay alert, prepared, and rely only on official updates

With the competition growing every year, staying informed and organised is just as important as academic preparation. Aspirants are advised to remain calm, keep documents ready, and monitor official announcements closely in the coming days.

Once the registration window opens, timely application will ensure a stress-free start to the NEET UG 2026 journey.
