Request to Waive Off Seat Leaving Penalty

Posted on March 18, 2024March 18, 2024 By Ankita Singh No Comments on Request to Waive Off Seat Leaving Penalty

Request to Waive Off Seat Leaving Penalty

Dear National Medical Council (NMC),

I am writing to request the waiver of the seat leaving penalty of ₹20 lakh that has been imposed on me. I understand that this penalty is in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the council, but I would like to present my case and seek your understanding and leniency in this matter.

seat leaving penalty

Background

I was admitted to a medical college through the counseling process conducted by the NMC. However, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, I had to withdraw from the college before the commencement of the academic year. I understand that this decision has financial implications, but it was a difficult choice that I had to make.

My family faced a sudden financial crisis, which made it impossible for me to continue my education at that time. It was a heartbreaking decision for me as I have always been passionate about pursuing a career in medicine. I had to prioritize my family’s well-being over my personal aspirations.

Financial Hardship

The imposition of the seat leaving penalty of ₹20 lakh has put an additional burden on my family. We are already struggling to meet our basic needs and repay our existing debts. The penalty amount is beyond our means, and paying it would further worsen our financial situation.

I understand the importance of the penalty in discouraging seat leaving and ensuring the commitment of students to their chosen institutions. However, I believe that my circumstances were exceptional and beyond my control. I did not leave the seat willingly but due to unavoidable circumstances.

Appeal for Waiver of seat leaving penalty

I humbly request the NMC to consider my appeal for the waiver of the seat leaving penalty. I assure you that if given the opportunity, I am fully committed to pursuing my medical education and fulfilling all the obligations that come with it.

I understand that the NMC has the authority to make exceptions in certain cases, and I hope that my situation will be considered as one such exception. I am willing to provide any necessary documentation or evidence to support my case and demonstrate the validity of my circumstances.

Granting me the waiver would not only provide much-needed relief to my family but also give me the chance to continue my education and contribute to the healthcare sector in the future. I am determined to make a positive impact and serve the community as a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional.

Thank you for considering my appeal. I hope for a favorable response from the NMC, and I am ready to comply with any conditions or requirements that may be necessary for the waiver.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]
