Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University’s The formal inspection of LGSB Subharti College of Journalism and Mass Communication by the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Ras Bihari Bose Subharti

University, Prof. Dr. Desh Deepak, was not merely an administrative exercise but a significant milestone toward the institute’s bright future. The entire journalism department reflected a remarkable blend of enthusiasm, energy, and academic seriousness.

The Director of the institute, Sheel Shukla, along with his dedicated and dynamic team—Brijesh Shukla, Neeraj, Shobha Rana, and Prof. Aarti Pandey—extended a grand, warm, and dignified welcome to the Vice Chancellor. The reception showcased not only formal respect but also the strong work culture and team spirit of the institution.
During the inspection, Prof. Dr. Desh Deepak closely reviewed the department’s academic activities, state-of-the-art electronic media studio, digital newsroom, print media labs, and live production setup. He took special interest in the news bulletins, documentaries, ground reporting projects, and digital content produced by the department.

In his impactful address, the Vice Chancellor said:
“Today, I have not just seen an institution, but a living model of the future of journalism. The kind of practical training, technical expertise, and real media environment being provided to students here is rarely seen in the country. I am confident that in the coming years, this journalism institute will establish a strong identity not only nationally but also internationally.”
Praising Director Sheel Shukla, he further stated:

• Live Newsroom Model: Providing students with real-time news production experience.
• Digital-First Journalism Training: Focus on social media, YouTube news, and mobile journalism (MoJo).
• Ground Reporting Program: Students are sent into the field to report on real issues.
• Industry Integration: Regular guest lectures and workshops by senior journalists and media experts.
• News Breakdown & Short Video Lab: Specialized training in analytical and digital content creation on current affairs.

The Vice Chancellor also held an in-depth interaction with the departmental team, sharing his vision on future planning, research-oriented journalism, and expansion of quality education. He indicated that concrete steps would be taken to develop journalism as a “Center of Excellence” at the university level.
