Rashtra Bodh’ to be Introduced as a Mandatory Value-Added Course from Academic Session 2025–26

Dehradun, December 23, 2025.
Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University successfully organized an Introductory-cum-Inaugural Lecture on the theme “Rashtra Bodh (National Consciousness)” on December 23, 2025, at the Lecture Theatre of Lal Bahadur Shastri Lokpriya Hospital, located at the University’s Main (KS) Campus. The programme was conducted in a dignified and intellectually enriching atmosphere.

The programme commenced at 2:00 PM with the formal welcome of the distinguished guests. The Chief Guest, Dr. Devendra Bhasin, Vice Chairman, Uttarakhand State Higher Education Promotion Committee, Government of Uttarakhand, was felicitated with a shawl and sapling. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, floral tribute to Bharat Mata, and a soulful rendition of Vande Mataram by the students of the Nursing Faculty.

Addressing the gathering, the President of the University, Dr. Atul Krishna, delivered a powerful and visionary address. He stated that the National Education Policy–2020 envisions an education system deeply rooted in Indian values, aimed not merely at producing degree-holders but at shaping responsible, enlightened citizens.

He announced that, in alignment with this vision, the University has decided to implement “Rashtra Bodh” as a mandatory value-added course across all faculties and disciplines from the academic session 2025–26.
Dr. Atul Krishna emphasized, “Rashtra Bodh is not just a subject—it is a foundation for character-building. It nurtures constitutional values, civic responsibility, and social commitment, which are essential for transforming India into an equitable, vibrant, and knowledge-driven global power.”

The programme was graced by the presence of the Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Sharma and the Registrar Mr. Khalid Hasan, who described this initiative as a significant step toward holistic student development and nation-building.

Earlier, Dr. G. K. Thapliyal, Director General, MTV Buddhist Religious and Philanthropic Trust, elaborated on the ideological and philosophical foundations of Rashtra Bodh. This was followed by the inaugural lecture delivered by Dr. Rita Tiwari, Dean, Faculty of Fine Arts and Fashion Design, who eloquently explained the concept of national consciousness through Indian art, culture, and life values.

Dr. Rajesh Tiwari, Head, Department of Culture, introduced the Rashtra Bodh initiative and formally presented the profile of the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Devendra Bhasin highlighted the pivotal role of education, culture, and youth in nation-building and described Rashtra Bodh as a timely and essential academic intervention.

The programme was further dignified by the presence of Mr. Balwant Bohra and Mr. Ravindra Kumar Saini, along with several other eminent personalities.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Jeevan Asha Chandra, Director, LBSLH & Beehive Hospital. After the inaugural session, the lecture series on Rashtra Bodh was continued by Dr. Rita Tiwari.

The programme was efficiently conducted by Mr. Raman Krishna Kimothi, Member, Department of Culture. University officials, faculty members, students, and a large number of distinguished attendees were present on the occasion.

The event sent a clear message that Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University is firmly committed to placing nation-centric values at the core of higher education and nurturing socially responsible future citizens.
