Hands-on Training on Water Conservation, Water Quality Testing and Skill Development under the “Maa Dhara Naman Program”
Dehradun, June 24: A One-Day National Hands-on Training Workshop and Awareness Program on “Water Quality Analysis Training and Its Applications for Viksit Bharat” will be organized on June 25, 2026 , through the joint collaboration of UCOST (Uttarakhand Council for Science and Technology), Government of Uttarakhand , and Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun.
The workshop, being conducted under the “Maa Dhara Naman Program,” will take place at the UCOST Laboratory, Jhajra, Dehradun , from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM . The primary objective of the program is to familiarize youth, students, researchers, and professionals associated with science and environmental studies with modern techniques of water conservation and water quality analysis.
During the workshop, participants will receive practical training on Water Conservation Methods, Indian Traditional Water Conservation Practices, Water Sampling Methods, and Water Quality Parameters (Physical, Chemical and Biological Parameters). Experts will also provide guidance on the analysis of water quality parameters in field and laboratory conditions, as well as the applications of water quality analysis for skill development and career opportunities.

The program will feature demonstrations of modern scientific instruments and testing procedures used in water quality assessment, enabling participants to gain valuable hands-on experience. Certificates will be awarded to all participants during the concluding session of the workshop.
The national workshop is being supported by CRIS DNA Labs (Centre for Research & Innovative Scientific Studies), Dehradun, in collaboration with the organizing institutions. The central theme of the program is “Empowering Youth, Protecting Water, Building a Viksit Bharat,” reflecting a commitment to promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable water management among young citizens.
