Newly Admitted Students Inspired with Education, Values, National Consciousness and Personality Development

Dehradun, August 20, 2026: The third and final day of the three-day “Deeksharambh 2026 – Student Orientation Program” was concluded today, August 20, 2026, at the Lalitaditya Auditorium, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun. The program aims to ensure a smooth, positive, and inspiring start to university life for newly admitted students. The event was held in an enthusiastic and dignified atmosphere.

On the third day, newly admitted students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Commerce and Management, and Faculty of Fine Arts participated enthusiastically. The objective of the three-day program was not only to familiarize students with the university’s academic system, institutional discipline, and available facilities but also to inspire them towards values, national consciousness, social responsibility, and holistic personality development.

Senior functionaries, Deans of various faculties, Heads of Departments, and faculty members welcomed the newly admitted students and extended best wishes for their bright future.

Addressing the students, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Desh Deepak said that admission to the university marks the beginning of a new journey in their lives. He said that university life is not limited to classes, examinations, and degrees alone, but is an important opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, character, and leadership qualities. He inspired students to make discipline, hard work, time management, moral values, and a habit of continuous learning an integral part of their lives.

Prof. Manmohan Gupta, Dean Academics and Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, provided information to students about the university’s academic system, quality education, academic discipline, and excellence in higher education. He encouraged students to make the best use of regular study, optimum utilization of time, guidance from teachers, and available academic resources. He said that curiosity, the habit of asking questions, and a tendency for continuous learning are important foundations for success in student life.

During the program, Mr. Raman Krishna Kimothi, Member, Department of Culture and Assistant Director, International Students and Global Relations Department, introduced students to Subharti’s core philosophy of “Rashtra Bodh se Rashtra Bhakti – From National Consciousness to Patriotism.” He stated that the objective of education is not limited to career building alone, but its important purpose is also character building and developing responsible citizens. Students were motivated to understand their responsibilities towards the nation, society, and humanity, and to use their knowledge and talent positively for nation-building. A special session on “Rashtra Bodh – National Consciousness” was held, through which students were connected with Indian culture, glorious history, national unity, patriotism, and a sense of duty.

On this occasion, Dr. Jeevan Asha, Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri Popular Hospital, also addressed students and shared her inspiring thoughts. She motivated students to adopt discipline, sensitivity, a spirit of service, positive thinking, and human values along with education. She said that students should remain dedicated to their goals, continue learning, and use their knowledge and abilities for the service of society and humanity. Her views inspired students to integrate human values with their academic life.

During the program, students were also provided information about the university’s structure, academic and co-curricular activities, available facilities, and various opportunities available to them. The Faculty of Education provided essential information regarding university rules, regulations, and discipline, while the Chief Proctor made students aware of the importance of a safe, respectful, and ragging-free academic environment through anti-ragging awareness. Students were sensitized to maintain the dignity of the university and to immediately inform the concerned authorities in case of any untoward incident.

Mrs. Poonam Kaushik, Controller of Examinations, informed students about the university’s examination system, evaluation process, examination-related rules, and important guidelines. Mr. Pradeep Mahara, Coordinator, National Service Scheme (NSS), familiarized students with various NSS activities and opportunities for social service and motivated them to make a spirit of service and social responsibility a part of student life. Students were also encouraged to actively participate in cultural, literary, sports, social, creative, and other co-curricular activities available at the university, so as to develop their confidence, team spirit, leadership ability, and overall personality.

On the third day, newly admitted students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Commerce and Management, and Faculty of Fine Arts actively participated in various sessions. Enthusiasm, curiosity, and positive energy regarding their new academic life were evident among students. Through the program, students were made to realize that they are not merely students of the university, but an important part of the university family, and that their talent, ideas, and energy can also contribute significantly to the progress of the university.

At the end of the program, Dr. Sandeep Dhyani, Joint Director, Research Department, delivered the vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to the university administration, Deans of various faculties, Heads of Departments, faculty members, officers, staff, and students for their support in the successful organization of “Deeksharambh 2026.” He encouraged the newly admitted students to achieve excellence in their academic life by making positive use of the guidance and opportunities received during the program.

On this occasion, Registrar Mr. Khalid Hasan, Secretary of the Department of Culture and Head of the Department of Computer Applications Mr. Vinay Semwal, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Research Director Dr. Sandeep Dhyani, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Dr. Imran Khan, Dr. Pratibha Juyal, Dr. Pushpa Dhyani, Prof. Nitika Kaushal, Coordinator of National Service Scheme (NSS) Mr. Pradeep Mahara, Mr. Shubham, Mr. Aditya, Mr. Rajat, Mr. Sharad, Mr. Rajdeep Rana, Mr. Vivek Chauhan, Mr. Suraj, Mr. Ravi Kant, horticulture staff, Ms. Sapna, along with members of the Department of Culture, Deans of various faculties, faculty members, officers, staff, and newly admitted students were present.

On the occasion of the successful conclusion of the three-day “Deeksharambh 2026,” students were given the message that this program is not merely a formal beginning of their university life, but the commencement of a new journey with knowledge, skills, values, self-confidence, leadership, and national consciousness. Students are expected to develop themselves as excellent in knowledge, cultured in behavior, disciplined in work, nationalistic in thought, and sensitive towards society by making positive use of every opportunity available at the university.

All three days of “Deeksharambh 2026” made a meaningful effort to familiarize newly admitted students with the university’s academic and institutional system while also connecting them with the broader objectives of life. The program instilled confidence and enthusiasm among students that Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University is not just a place to obtain a degree, but a strong platform to shape their future with knowledge, skills, values, personality, leadership, and national consciousness.
