The National Testing Agency (NTA) has recently announced the revision of dates for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. This decision comes after the NTA noticed a clash between the JEE Main exam dates and the Class 12 board exams.
Indian Institute of Technology’s Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) Main session 2 dates and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 examination dates were clashing which have been rescheduled by National Testing Agency (NTA).
The clash between the JEE Main and Class 12 exams created a dilemma for students who were preparing for both. Many students were concerned about the overlapping dates and the stress it would cause. Recognizing the importance of both exams, the National Testing Agency decided to take immediate action and revise the JEE Main dates.
The Class 12 board examination is set to conclude on April 2 with the last exam being that of Informatics Practices, Computer Science, and Information Technology subjects between 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, according to the CBSE date sheet. However, the second session of JEE Main 2024 is clashing with these board exams, which are scheduled to take place between April 1 to April 15, according to the NTA circular.
The revised dates for the JEE Main exams have been announced as follows:
- April Session: The JEE Main exams for the April session will now be conducted from the 27th to the 30th of April.
- May Session: The JEE Main exams for the May session will be held from the 24th to the 28th of May.
This rescheduling of the JEE Main dates will provide much-needed relief to the students who were facing a time crunch due to the clash with the Class 12 exams. It will allow them to focus on their preparations without having to worry about conflicting schedules.
The first session of JEE Main 2024 is scheduled to take place between January 24 and February 1, before the commencement of CBSE Class 12 exams. CBSE Class 12 exams are scheduled to begin on February 15.
The NTA’s decision to revise the JEE Main dates showcases their commitment to the welfare of the students and their understanding of the challenges faced by them. By taking this step, the NTA has ensured that students can give their best in both the JEE Main and Class 12 exams.
