Dedicated his entire life to medicine and social service; leaves behind an eternal legacy of humanity through eye donation
Dehradun, August 2: Dr. Kshemendra Gupta, the revered father of Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran, Full-Time Member of the Dental Assessment and Rating Board of the National Dental Commission (Government of India) and former Vice-Chancellor of Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, passed away on Sunday at around 5:00 p.m. His demise has deeply saddened the medical fraternity, the academic community, and the social sector.
Dr. Kshemendra Gupta served society for many years as a distinguished medical practitioner in Haldaur (District Bijnor) and Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He did not confine his medical career to treatment alone but dedicated his life to social service. His contribution to cataract treatment and the eradication of polio was particularly remarkable. He played a significant role in providing medical care to thousands of underprivileged people and in promoting public health awareness.
Dr. Gupta was an alumnus of Rishikul Ayurvedic College, Haridwar. A strong advocate of education and social upliftment, he served as the President and Life Member of the Management Committee of C.D. Inter College, Haldaur, and Chandramani Bal Vikas Kendra, Haldaur. Through these institutions, he made outstanding contributions toward expanding quality education in rural areas and uplifting underprivileged sections of society. His life remained a shining example of service, compassion, and humanitarian values.
His last rites were performed on Monday at Purnanand Cremation Ground, Muni Ki Reti, Rishikesh, with full Vedic rituals. Even in his final moments, he upheld his commitment to humanity by donating his eyes. His noble decision has brought the gift of sight to two individuals, conveying the inspiring message that even after death, one can continue to illuminate the lives of others.
Remembering his invaluable contributions to medicine, education, and social service, eminent academicians, doctors, social organizations, and distinguished citizens paid heartfelt tributes to him. They also expressed their deepest condolences to Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran and the bereaved family, praying that the departed soul attains eternal peace and that the family is granted the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

He is survived by his son, Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran; his daughter, Dr. Priti Vishnoi; his younger son, Mr. Ashu Aeran; and the entire bereaved family.
