Gujarat NEET Counselling 2026: Guide to 775 MBBS and BDS Seats in Round 3

Posted on October 7, 2026October 7, 2026 By Ankita Singh No Comments on Gujarat NEET Counselling 2026: Guide to 775 MBBS and BDS Seats in Round 3

The reported availability of 775 MBBS and BDS seats in Round 3 of Gujarat NEET Counselling 2026 indicates that a substantial number of undergraduate medical and dental seats may remain open after the first two allocation stages. However, the headline figure should be treated as an indicative total until it is confirmed in the official Round 3 seat matrix. The number may combine seats from government, grant-in-aid, and private medical and dental colleges, depending on how the counselling authority publishes its vacancy data.

Round 3 vacancies do not necessarily represent seats that were unfilled from the beginning of the admission process. They can arise when candidates do not report to an allotted college within the specified period, resign after accepting a seat, or receive an upgrade through a subsequent counselling process. Seats may also return to the central pool when candidates fail to complete fee payment, document verification, or other admission requirements. In some cases, additional seats become visible after institutions or authorities update their records.

For applicants, the figure of 775 should therefore be viewed as an opportunity rather than a guaranteed list of available choices. The number of MBBS and BDS seats open to an individual candidate can differ according to course preference, merit rank, category, domicile status, reservation provisions, and applicable quota. Government and private institutions may also follow different fee structures and reporting conditions.

Before choice filling, candidates should download and review the latest official seat matrix issued by the Gujarat counselling authority. It should be checked for exact college-wise, course-wise, category-wise, and quota-wise availability, along with tuition fees, other charges, and any applicable institutional conditions. Seat availability can change before choice filling, during allotment, or after reporting, so candidates should rely on the most recent official notice rather than the 775-seat headline alone.

Eligibility for Gujarat NEET Counselling 2026 Round 3 depends on the candidate’s status in the earlier rounds and the provisions notified by the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC). Applicants who registered in a previous round but did not receive an MBBS or BDS seat may generally be considered for further participation, subject to the applicable conditions. Candidates who accepted a seat but wish to improve their course or college may also be eligible to submit choices for an upgrade, provided they follow the prescribed rules.

Fresh applicants can participate only if the official Round 3 notice and information brochure specifically permit new registrations. In every case, candidates must have qualified NEET-UG 2026 and satisfy Gujarat’s domicile, schooling, or other eligibility requirements, where applicable. They should also hold valid category, economically weaker section, disability, or other supporting certificates if claiming reservation or special status. Documents must be current, correctly issued, and consistent with the details entered in the application.

Previous-round participation may affect eligibility. Candidates should verify whether they were required to report to an allotted institute, complete fee payment, submit original documents, or formally resign before joining another round. Failure to comply with reporting instructions can lead to cancellation, forfeiture of fees, or restrictions on subsequent participation. Likewise, leaving a seat after acceptance may have different consequences from declining an allotment through the permitted free-exit process.

Where registration is allowed, applicants should visit the official Gujarat counselling portal and complete a new application or confirm their existing details, as instructed. The process normally includes paying the prescribed registration or security fee, uploading or verifying identity and academic documents, checking category information, and submitting a fresh preference list before the deadline. Choices should be reviewed carefully because the order may determine allotment. Candidates must rely on the official information brochure and Round 3 notice, since rules for fresh registration, free exit, fee forfeiture, resignation, and choice submission can differ from earlier rounds.

Round 3 choice filling should begin with a realistic comparison of every college and course that may be acceptable. Review MBBS and BDS options separately, considering the seat category, reservation status, tuition fees, university charges, hostel costs, transport, and other recurring expenses. Location is also important because living costs, travel time, and access to family support can affect the total cost of education and daily wellbeing. Candidates should examine clinical exposure, infrastructure, laboratories, teaching resources, hospital facilities, patient load, academic performance, internship arrangements, and hostel availability rather than relying only on a college’s reputation.

Prepare a broad list of acceptable options and arrange it in genuine preference order. A preferred college should be placed above another because it better matches the candidate’s academic, financial, and personal priorities, not simply because its previous cutoff appeared lower or higher. Including every option that the candidate would actually accept can improve the likelihood of obtaining a suitable seat. However, candidates should avoid selecting a course or institution that they would refuse after allotment, since careless choices may create reporting, withdrawal, or financial complications.

Before adding a choice, confirm the applicable quota and seat type. A seat may be offered under the government, management, NRI, or another applicable category, and the associated fee structure can differ substantially. Check official counselling information for tuition, deposits, service charges, refund provisions, and any additional institutional costs. Do not assume that a college’s general fee applies to every category. Candidates should also verify eligibility requirements and reservation documentation before placing a category-specific preference.

Those already holding a seat should weigh the possible benefit of an upgrade against the rules governing participation in Round 3. Review whether the current seat can be retained, whether a new allotment requires reporting, and whether accepting or leaving a seat could result in forfeiture of fees or the existing allotment. Finally, save the choices, review their order and category details carefully, and lock them before the official deadline. Unsubmitted, unlocked, or incorrectly ordered preferences may not be considered for allotment.

After the Gujarat NEET Counselling 2026 Round 3 allotment result is published, candidates should download the allotment letter from the official counselling portal and read every instruction carefully. Verify the assigned college, course, category, quota, reporting venue, fee amount, and payment deadline. If payment is required before reporting, complete it through the prescribed method and save the transaction confirmation and receipt.

Commonly required documents include the NEET-UG 2026 scorecard and admit card, Round 3 allotment letter, completed counselling application form, valid identity proof, and Class 10 and Class 12 certificates and mark sheets. Candidates may also need a domicile certificate, where applicable, and a valid category or EWS certificate. Those claiming disability benefits should carry the relevant disability certificate issued by the authorised medical authority. Passport-size photographs, migration or transfer certificate, medical fitness certificate, and any undertaking or fee-related document specified in the notice may also be required.

Candidates should arrange original documents together with the required number of photocopies before visiting the assigned institute. Reporting to the (Gujarat)  allotted college within the stated period is essential for document verification, fee payment, and completion of admission formalities. The institute may reject or defer admission if documents are incomplete, inconsistent, expired, or not produced in the prescribed format. Keep copies of the allotment letter, submitted forms, verified documents, payment receipts, and acknowledgement issued by the college for future reference.

Before accepting the seat, review the rules governing upgradation, joining, resignation, and participation in any further counselling round. An upgrade request may carry conditions, while failure to join or an unauthorised resignation may affect eligibility, fee refunds, or future participation. Candidates should rely only on official Gujarat counselling notices and portal updates for deadlines, revised seat matrices, fee details, reporting instructions, and eligibility conditions. Missing a payment or reporting deadline can lead to cancellation of the allotment.
