The fourth day of the exhibition “Kala Varsha 2026”, organized by the Subharti Department of Fine Arts, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, featured a live calligraphy demonstration that was a special attraction for art lovers.

At the exhibition venue, Chitra International Art Gallery, Ballupur, art enthusiasts made the most of the holiday today.

Dehradun: Today marked the fourth day of the fifth art exhibition “Kala Varsha 2026”, organized by the Subharti Department of Fine Arts, and it was dedicated to art lovers.

The annual art exhibition “Kala Varsha 2026” brings a special opportunity for art lovers of Dehradun. It is being held at Chitra International Art Gallery, Ballupur, from 7th May to 11th May 2026.

Today’s featured artist was Shri Jaipal Singh, who was felicitated by Dean Dr. Rita Tiwari and Head of Department Dr. Santosh Kumar with a memento and ceremonial stole.

Many tourists and art lovers visited the exhibition today and appreciated the paintings and fashion design works created by Subharti Fine Arts students. Alongside, artist Jaipal Singh also gave a live demonstration of calligraphy to the students of Subharti University. He carefully observed all the children’s work, explained their paintings and installations, and discussed with them how calligraphy can be incorporated into their future work and how they can experiment with other new materials.

This fifth annual art exhibition, “Kala Varsha 2026”, showcases the creative talent of young and emerging artists. This exhibition is a must-visit for all residents of Dehradun and art lovers, as it has been curated by connecting multiple facets of society.

This grand event is being organized by Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar, Subharti School of Fine Arts and Fashion Design, affiliated with Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun. The exhibition is dedicated to the late Sanghmata Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar.

The sponsors of this event are: Swarnayug Design Consult, Dehradun; Elephanta Colors; Sawariya Stationery Store, Dehradun; and Kathakalya Academy, Dehradun.

On this occasion, Assistant Director (Academics) Ms. Avni Kamal said that such live demonstrations provide children with a new environment to learn and understand emerging techniques and contemporary art trends, which instills fresh energy in them.

Present on the occasion, along with the Dean and Academic Head of the Department from Subharti University, were the department’s esteemed faculty members: Geetika, Ayush, Manoj, Naman Paul, Deepak, Ankush, Shaifali, Urvashi, Dr. Manu Sharma, Shahrukh, among others.
