Vice Chancellor Dr. Desh Deepak calls upon youth to build a drug-free society
Dehradun: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University organized an impactful one-day camp on Anti-Drug Awareness on April 27, 2026, at Lalitaditya Prekshagreh. The programme aimed to sensitize students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage them to adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle. A strong sense of awareness and enthusiasm was evident among the students throughout the event.
The programme commenced with an address by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Desh Deepak, who emphasized the crucial role of youth in building a drug-free society. He stated that such a goal can only be achieved when young individuals become aware and take proactive steps in the right direction. His address left a deep impact on the audience.

As part of the camp, a Poster Making Competition was organized, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. Through their creative expressions, participants effectively highlighted the ill effects of drug abuse. Navya secured the first position with her outstanding presentation, followed by Riya Shahi in second place and Alfia in third.
In addition, NSS volunteers presented a powerful skit that vividly depicted the serious consequences of drug addiction and its social impact. The performance was thought-provoking and left a lasting impression on the audience.
The event was efficiently anchored by Satvinder, who ensured smooth conduct of the programme while keeping the audience engaged throughout.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by NSS Programme Officer Pradeep Mahara, who expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, faculty members, volunteers, and participants for their valuable contribution in making the event a success.
On this occasion, Dr. Manmohan Gupta, Dr. Imran Khan, Ms. Manali Rawat, Dr. Raman Krishna Kimothi, Dr. Pratibha, Dr. Pushpa, Ms. Midhat, Ms. Apeksha, Ms. Adrita, Sneha, Riya, Kavita, Akshi, Siddharth, and Mantisha were present and actively contributed to the success of the programme.
