Basant Panchami was celebrated with great reverence, enthusiasm, and a creative atmosphere at Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University today. The entire campus appeared immersed in the hues of knowledge, devotion, and creativity. The cultural celebration conveyed the message that a university is not merely a center for awarding degrees, but a vibrant platform for values, culture, and creative expression.
The program commenced with the traditional worship of Goddess Saraswati. This was followed by a sacred havan performed with Vedic chants, in which the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran; Director General, Major General G. K. Thapliyal; Administrator Ravindra Pratap; Dean Academics Dr. Manmohan Gupta; Dr. Lokesh Tyagi; Ms. Nitika Kaushal; Pankaj Joshi; along with all Heads of Departments, faculty members, and staff were present. Through the havan, collective prayers were offered for knowledge, wisdom, discipline, and righteous intellect.
On the occasion of Basant Panchami, the creative talent of the university was also on full display. One participant from each department took part in the rangoli competition. Some rangolis depicted the image of Goddess Saraswati, while others beautifully reflected the harmony of education, culture, and nature. Through colors, students powerfully expressed their imagination, cultural understanding, and artistic vision.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran delivered an inspiring cultural message. He stated that Basant Panchami is not merely a religious festival, but a symbol of the renewal of knowledge. When education is connected with culture, it guides society and becomes the foundation of nation-building. He urged students to imbibe Indian cultural values along with modern knowledge and to channel their creativity toward positive social transformation.
Meanwhile, Director General Major General G. K. Thapliyal, in his brief and formal address, extended Basant Panchami greetings to all students, teachers, and staff. He noted that such cultural events strengthen discipline, harmony, and collective consciousness within the university campus.
On this occasion, Administrator Ravindra Pratap, Dean Academics Dr. Manmohan Gupta, along with all faculty members and staff, were present. Throughout the program, a balanced atmosphere of discipline, cultural dignity, and celebration prevailed.
Overall, the Basant Panchami celebration at Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University went beyond a religious ritual to emerge as a collective festival of knowledge, culture, and creativity, further strengthening the university’s cultural identity.
