Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun celebrated National Service Scheme (NSS) Day with great enthusiasm and energy. The event saw active participation from both students and faculty members and was held on the university campus with several senior officials in attendance.
The program was presided over by Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran, along with Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Desh Deepak, Dean Academic Dr. Manmohan Gupta, Dean Student Welfare Ms. Neetika Kaushal, Dean Dr. Imran Khan, Program Officer Mr. Pradeep Mahra, Co-Program Officer Dr. Vandana Dangwal, and several other faculty members.
In his address, Dr. Aeran announced that the university has received approval for five NSS units—two at GBCM Medical College and three at the Kotra Santour campus. He emphasized, “NSS is not just an activity, but a practical way of life. It instills in students a spirit of service, discipline, and social responsibility. Subharti University has always been known for socially relevant education and service, and NSS further elevates this legacy.”
Dr. Desh Deepak shared his personal experiences and urged the volunteers to uphold the spirit of service and responsibility. He added that NSS is a powerful platform to connect youth with nation-building initiatives.
Program Officer Mr. Pradeep Mahra, in his vote of thanks, stated that the event is truly meaningful when every volunteer carries the spirit of service and dedication into their life.
The celebration included vibrant cultural performances by the volunteers, including songs, dances, and skits, spreading the message of social service and community engagement. The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
The NSS Day celebration not only energized the students but also inspired them to embrace service and social responsibility as a guiding principle in their lives.
