Dehradun, June 25: Demonstrating its strong commitment to promoting modern, research-oriented, and skill-based education, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun, in collaboration with the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) and CRIS DNA Labs, successfully organized a one-day National Workshop on “Water Quality Analysis and Skill Development” under the Maa Dhara Naman Programme. The workshop brought together scientists, academicians, researchers, students, and environmental experts from across the country to deliberate on emerging aspects of water quality analysis, water conservation, and scientific research.

The primary objective of the workshop was to extend learning beyond classroom teaching by equipping students with advanced laboratory techniques, scientific testing methodologies, and industry- and research-oriented practical skills. In line with this vision, participants received hands-on exposure through live demonstrations of modern water quality testing techniques, laboratory training sessions, and field-based analytical exercises, enabling them to gain valuable practical experience.

The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Narottam Sharma, Associate Professor and Research Coordinator, Faculty of Healthcare and Allied Sciences, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, along with Dr. Ankita Singh, Director, Junior Scientist, and Quality Control Manager. Under their leadership, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 50 delegates representing 20 states. Participants included students and research scholars from reputed institutions such as MMDU Ambala, Uttaranchal University, CGC University Mohali, GLA University Mathura, and several other leading academic institutions.

During the technical sessions, Dr. Bhavatosh Sharma delivered an insightful lecture on water conservation, scientific water management, and environmental responsibility. He emphasized that future water security depends on scientific approaches, public awareness, and sustainable development, while encouraging young researchers and students to play an active role in conserving water resources.
The workshop was graced by Dr. Naveen Chand Joshi, Coordinator of the Regional Science Centre, as the Guest of Honour. Appreciating the University’s initiative, he stated that such skill-oriented training programmes not only support the objectives of the National Education Policy but also strengthen scientific thinking and foster a robust research culture among students.

The valedictory session was chaired by Prof. Durgesh Pant, Director General, UCOST, who attended as the Chief Guest, along with Dr. D. P. Uniyal, Joint Director, UCOST. Congratulating Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, CRIS DNA Labs, and the organizing team on the successful conduct of the workshop, they emphasized that scientific research, technological innovation, and skill development are indispensable for addressing global challenges such as water conservation. Certificates were also distributed to all participants during the concluding session.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks. Through this national workshop, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University once again reaffirmed its commitment to delivering modern education through research, innovation, experiential learning, and socially relevant scientific initiatives.
