Introduction

The National Testing Agency will announce the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2021 soon on the official website of NTA.

The teachers and Candidates have said that this year NEET UG paper was of easy to moderate to difficult level and the entire paper was NCERT-based. Thus NEET aspirants of complete preparation will surely get good results and hopefully will get admission to their preferred medical colleges and institutes.

NEET UG Results

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2021 was conducted by the National Testing Agency on September 12, 2021. And it is expected that the result will be released soon with a provisional answer key on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Link: http://neet.nta.nic.in.

Candidates who will qualify for the NEET UG 2021 will get admission to undergraduate medical colleges and institutes with their preferred courses.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the counselling for 15 per cent of seats of All India Quota ( AIQ). These 15 per cent seats are included in Central Universities, Deemed Universities, Government aided Universities etc.

What is All India Quota (AIQ)?

The medical seats in India are divided into two parts. One is the State quota with 85 per cent seats.

and all India Quota has 15 per cent seats.

However, The medical seats of Jammu and Kashmir are not included in the All India Quota (AIQ).

States follow their reservation policy for the 85 per cent of medical seats that are under them

The reservation policy for the All India Quota is given below:

Schedule Caste- 15 per cent
Schedule Tribe- 7.5 per cent
Person with Disabilities ( PwD)- 5 per cent according to the horizontal Reservation.
Other backward classes (OBC):- A Non- Creamy Layer- 27 per cent
EWS- 10 per cent seats

These seats are only for CentralUniversities and National institutes or Colleges.

NEET Counselling

NEET counselling for Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS), Bachelor in Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) and Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) seats under the AIQ is conducted by the AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC). These 85 per cent seats are only Government Universities, Government-aided Universities, Deemed Universities, Central universities, National Institutes And Internal Seats of Delhi University.

NEET All India Quota counselling for Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) and AH programmes are conducted by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).

Medical aspirants get admission to all Veterinary colleges in India except for the medical students of Jammu and Kashmir through Veterinary colleges in India (VCI) counselling. Candidates can apply for Counselling for the bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and AH programmes from the official website for VCI counselling.

Conclusion

The National Testing Agency will announce the category-wise All India Rank (AIR) based on which the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2021 merit list is prepared. MCC conducts counselling based on AIR list.
