Vice Chancellor Prof. In a historic development in the field of healthcare and medical education, Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran, Vice Chancellor of Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, has been appointed as a full-time member of the Dental Assessment and Rating Board under the newly constituted National Dental Commission (NDC). This appointment stands as a testament to his individual excellence and distinguished career.
This appointment comes at a crucial time when the Government of India is taking decisive steps to align dental education and healthcare services with global standards, ensuring transparency and quality-based systems. In this transformative phase, the role of experienced, visionary, and proven leaders like Dr. Aeran is considered extremely significant.
Speaking to the press regarding this important responsibility, Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran stated,
“This is not just a position, but a great responsibility towards the nation. My priority will be to ensure that dental healthcare services and quality education reach the last person in the country. We will work towards developing a system where every citizen has access to affordable, accessible, and high-quality dental care.”
He further expressed confidence that through this new framework, India will establish a strong global identity in the field of dental education and healthcare services.
Dr. Aeran’s achievement is the result of over three decades of experience, administrative excellence, and dedication to education and research. He has previously received numerous national and international honors, including Prosthodontist of the Year (2013, 2015), Outstanding Academician Award (2014), ICD Awards (2014, 2015), Himratna Award by the Governor of Uttarakhand, and recognition by the Vice President of India for Project Arogya. He has also been appreciated by former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam for his contributions to research.
With the formation of the National Dental Commission, a new, transparent, and accountable system is being implemented across the country. Its objective is to elevate dental education, institutional evaluation, and healthcare services to the highest standards. In this context, the appointment of Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran emerges as a strong driving force behind this transformation.
