According to the new NMC announcement, there will be a common national medical registration for all registered doctors in the country. The same is maintained by the NMC Medical Registration and Ethics Agency (EMRB). This list contains all the records of doctors registered in all state registers maintained by the various state medical boards and contains all necessary information about the doctor.
Under the new National Medical Commission (NMC) regulations, doctors must now be assigned a unique identification number (UID) to practice medicine in the country.
The UID is generated centrally by the Ethics Committee of the NMC and thus provides registration of doctors to NMR and the right to practice medicine in India.

A license to practice medicine issued to registered doctors is valid for a period of five years. After that, the doctor must renew the license by submitting an application to the State Medical Council with a new notification “Heilpracticerordnung und Approbation Medical Registration 2023.
Applications for license extensions can be made three months before the license expires.
