The Supreme Court gave a green signal to the reservation of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) in NEET PG admission. For the Academic year 2021- 2022 , and the apex court has held the central government’s decision of providing 27 percent reservation for OBC while 20 percent for EWS in NEET 2021- 22 .

The court, in its interim order, asked for resumption of NEET PG counseling as per the notified rules for the year 2021-22 and they also vacated the stay. NEET counseling for the year 2021-22 will be as per the existing OBC and EWS reservation rules .
Court in it’s interim decision- stated that the existing rules for EWS (income Rs 8 lakh per annum and 10 per cent reservation) in NEET PG counseling for the academic year 2021-22 will only be considered and the Future NEET PG admissions will be based on the final decision made by the court on EWS income limit.
