Uttarakhand’s Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, felicitates university’s innovative contributions — Subharti University emerging as a leading force in Uttarakhand’s higher education

Under the aegis of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand, a two-day “Shiksha Samvad Chintan Shivir” commenced today in Dehradun. The programme was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri Anand Vardhan, Chief Secretary, Shri Ranjit Kumar Sinha (IAS), Secretary, Department of Higher & Technical Education, and Shri Manuj Goyal (IAS), Additional Secretary, along with several distinguished officials, academicians, and Vice-Chancellors from various universities.
The central theme of the programme, “Reimagining Higher Education for Viksit Bharat and Samriddh Uttarakhand,” focused on strengthening quality, innovation, and relevance in the higher education ecosystem of the state.
On this occasion, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun was felicitated for its innovative, quality-driven, and community-oriented contributions in the field of higher education.
The honour was presented by Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, to Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran, Vice-Chancellor of the University, who received the memento on behalf of the institution.
This recognition marks an acknowledgment of the university’s consistent efforts and achievements in teaching, training, research, innovation, and community engagement.
Expressing gratitude, Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran described the honour as a collective achievement of the university family and stated, “This recognition will inspire us to continue working with greater dedication, creativity, and innovation.”
In recent years, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University has taken significant strides in promoting innovation-based learning models, industry–academia collaboration, and the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into modern education.
These initiatives have positioned the university among the leading higher education institutions of Uttarakhand.
Chief Secretary Shri Anand Vardhan stated, “If the universities of the state link research and skill development with local needs, Uttarakhand can become a national model in higher education.”
Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, Shri Ranjit Kumar Sinha (IAS) remarked, “The state government accords top priority to experimentation, research, quality, and transparency in education. Universities must serve as a bridge between policy and practice.”
Additional Secretary Shri Manuj Goyal (IAS) shared, “Higher education institutions must take concrete steps towards multi-dimensional and practical education in line with the National Education Policy 2020.”
Delivering his Keynote Address, Hon’ble Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat emphasized, “The Government of Uttarakhand is working with a clear vision to achieve the goal of ‘Viksit Uttarakhand’ by 2047, keeping higher education at the centre. Universities should accelerate this vision through innovative teaching methodologies and impactful research.”
The conclave concluded with the participation of educationists, Vice-Chancellors, and experts who shared their insights and suggestions to further strengthen and make higher education in the state more effective, relevant, and practical.
