Strong Message by Professor Dr. Himanshu Aeran at IDA Saharanpur’s Grand Programme

The Indian Dental Association (IDA), Saharanpur Branch, organised a grand Installation Ceremony and Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programme at Hotel Royal Residency, focusing on quality and standardisation in dental care. The chief guest of the programme was senior academician Dr. Himanshu Aeran, Vice-Chancellor, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun. The event witnessed serious and practical deliberations on contemporary issues such as quality control and accreditation in dental treatment.

Addressing the gathering, Professor Dr. Himanshu Aeran delivered a detailed and analytical lecture on the topic “Quality Control in Dental Treatment and Importance of Accreditation.” He stated that quality control significantly improves both the reliability and outcomes of dental treatment, while accreditation ensures that clinics and institutions meet national and international standards. He emphasised that in the coming years, maintaining professional credibility without accreditation would become increasingly difficult.

Dr. Aeran also elaborated on NABH-based dental systems, infection control protocols, documentation practices, and patient safety measures, underlining their growing importance in modern healthcare delivery.

Dr. Himanshu Aeran is among the country’s select academicians with distinguished contributions in education, research, and administration. He has published more than 225 national and international research papers, served as editor of 14 reputed journals, delivered numerous national and international lectures and workshops, and has previously held positions as National President of the Indian Prosthodontic Society and Member of the Dental Council of India.

The Chief Medical Officer of Saharanpur, Dr. Praveen Kumar, attended the programme as a special guest and described dental health as an essential pillar of public health. In his address, he stressed the need for a fixed rate list in medical services and ethical, prompt treatment during emergencies. He noted that transparent pricing systems enhance public trust, and timely medical care during emergencies remains the most effective means of saving lives.

On this occasion, IDA Saharanpur Branch President Dr. Himanshu Gupta shared details of the organisation’s upcoming creative, social, and clinical initiatives. He stated that IDA would continue to play an active role in serving both society and the profession through CDE programmes, public awareness campaigns, and dental health camps.

Under the leadership of Honorary Secretary Dr. Harman Preet Singh and Treasurer Dr. Ramnadeep Singh, the event stood as a strong example of discipline, quality, and professional commitment.

The programme clearly highlighted that the future of dental care lies in quality, accreditation, and ethical professionalism, and guidance from academicians like Dr. Himanshu Aeran will play a pivotal role in shaping this direction. The event was conducted in a disciplined and dignified atmosphere, with a large number of dental professionals and healthcare experts in attendance.
