Preventive & Community Dentistry The upcoming branch of dentistry has been a subject of under graduate dental education and is concerned with the dental health education of the people in community, with applied dental research and the administration of group dental care programmes as well as the prevention and control of dental diseases of school going children.
The department is well equipped along with health education museum with charts and models of various topics in oral health and disease. It has mobile dental clinic with two fully equipped dental chairs, airotar, ultrasonic scalers and x-ray machine serving the dental care in rural areas and referring them to the hospital for further treatment. Dental camps are organized regularly by the department from either individually or with the assistance of voluntary organization, where along with the treatment dental health educations is also provided to the public, which empowers and motivates individuals to take responsibility for their own well-being. Also conducts school dental health programs through which dental care services, education and preventive care is delivered to school children.
