Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun, celebrated National Service Scheme (NSS) Day with great enthusiasm and zeal. Both students and faculty members actively participated in the program, which was organized on the university campus in the presence of senior officials and teachers.


The program was presided over by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Himanshu Aeran, who was joined on the dais by Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Desh Deepak, Dean Academics Dr. Manmohan Gupta, Dean Student Welfare Ms. Nikita Kaushal, Dean Dr. Imran Khan, NSS Program Officer Mr. Pradeep Mehra, Co-Program Officer Dr. Vandana Dangwal, along with several faculty members.

In his address, Vice Chancellor Dr. Aeran announced that the university has been granted approval for five NSS units. Out of these, two units will be established in the GBCM Medical College, and three in the Kotra Santaur campus.
He remarked, “NSS is not merely an activity, but a meaningful way of life. It instills in students a sense of service, discipline, and social responsibility. Subharti University has always been known for socially useful education and service-oriented initiatives, and NSS will further strengthen this legacy of prestige and commitment.”
Dr. Desh Deepak, in his inspiring speech, shared personal experiences and urged volunteers to carry forward the spirit of service and responsibility. He emphasized that NSS serves as a powerful medium to connect youth with the mainstream of nation-building.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Program Officer Mr. Pradeep Mehra said, “This celebration becomes truly meaningful only when every volunteer adopts service and dedication as a part of their life.”


The event was further enriched by colorful cultural performances by NSS volunteers, which filled the atmosphere with energy and enthusiasm. Students conveyed the message of social service through songs, dances, and skits. Among the highlights, Sonali and Bhavika’s dance performance, Kamini’s song, and Satvinder’s motivational speech received much appreciation from the audience.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving behind a spirit of motivation and inspiration. The celebration of NSS Day not only ignited enthusiasm among students but also guided them towards service and social responsibility.
