What is a non-NEET course:

Courses such as B.Sc agriculture, Btech, C.A, Commerce, etc come under the non-NEET course. There is a separate application that is released for the non-NEET candidates every year.

Puducherry on non-NEET courses:

The Centralised Admission Committee known as Centac in Puducherry has recently opened the registration for the non- National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET) online for the academic year 2021-2022, from 14th August, Friday.  The current Home Minister, A. Namassivayam is the one who holds the portfolio of education. The Puducherry government has waived off the application fee for admissions. It has been done both for the professional and the other courses in college. This was done through Centac and was done on the day when admissions began for that. 

After the release of the CENTAC admission brochure for the admissions to various courses, A Namassivayam said about the online forms that had started on Friday for the non-NEET undergraduate professional courses which include the following:

  1. Arts
  2. Science
  3. Commerce courses.

The forms were released for the academic year 2021-2022 and are scheduled to be closed by the 31st of August 2021. 

Where can the interested candidates apply?

The interested candidates can log in to the website http://www.centacpuducherry.in which is the CENTAC official website and submit their application details as asked in the online form. The last date for the submission of the form is 31st August 2021, CENTAC said. 

The decision to waive the application fee:

Considering the Covid-19 situation and the situation the people are suffering through, the loss of money, lack of food, loss of lives, the decision for waiving the application fee was taken. The usual collection of application fees by the CENTAC ranges from Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 every year by each student. But this year the application fee has been made which gave a sense of relief to the majority of the candidate’s household.

Colleges Under CENTAC:

There are many good and famous medical colleges under CENTAC which a candidate can choose for admission. The colleges are as follow:

  1. Mamta Medical College- Andhra Pradesh
  2. Sri Manakula Vijayanagar Medical College- Kalitheerthalkuppam
  3. Vinayaka Missions Medical College- Karaikal, Puducherry
  4. Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences & Research- Puducherry
  5. Sri Venkateswaraa Medical College- Puducherry.

Courses offered by CENTAC in Puducherry:

The Central Admission Committee (CENTAC) offers the following courses in the college:

  1. a) B. Tech 
  2. b) B. pharm
  3. c) B.Sc Nursing
  4. d) BSc (MLT)
  5. e) BA LLB
  6. f) MBBS
  7. g) BDS

Qualification required:

The candidate should be an Indian with an upper age limit – 21 and a lower age limit – 17.

Summary:

The CENTAC has opened the online forms for the non-NEET candidates for the academic year 2021-2022 and has waived the application fee for this year looking at the dreadful impacts of Covid-19. The fee was rs. 300- rs. 50 till the past year but CENTAC has waived the entire registration fee for this year.
