It is necessary to pass the NEET UG 2025 exam for admission to medical colleges across India. Considered as one of the toughest exams across the world, lakhs of candidates appear for the exam every year, out of which only a few thousand get admission to the top medical colleges. According to the NTA Exam Calendar 2025, the NEET UG exam will be held in the first week of May.
The National Testing Agency has made several changes in the NEET UG exam pattern 2025. The decision was taken following last year’s paper leak and cheating cases. This year, the NTA NEET UG exam will be conducted in pen-paper mode in a single shift. In the last 12 days, the agency has issued five notifications related to the NEET UG 2025 exam. However, the National Testing Agency has not yet released the notification for NEET UG 2025 exam registration.
January 14, 2025- On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, NTA issued a notice saying that Apaar ID or Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry should be integrated for NEET UG. This meant that Apaar ID should be made mandatory for NEET UG registration.
January 16, 2025- The NTA announced that the NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode. Information was also given about using NEET UG score for admission in BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS, and B.Sc Nursing courses.
January 17, 2025- On the very next day of releasing the NEET UG exam pattern 2025, the National Testing Agency updated a new notice. It stated that NEET scores and merit lists will also be valid for BDS courses.
January 24, 2025- In the notice issued on this day, it was said that it is not necessary to have Apaar ID for NEET UG registration, that is, even without it, students can register for the medical entrance exam this year.
January 25, 2025- It was informed that optional questions will be eliminated in NEET UG 2025 and the exam time has been reduced by 20 minutes. This year, the NEET UG exam will be for three hours, like it used to be before Covid.
When Will Registration For NEET UG 2025 Start?
NEET UG exam will be conducted on May 4, 2025, that is, the first Sunday of May. The registration process for this has not started yet. Most of the students have a question in their mind that if the NEET UG exam is being conducted on the pattern of the pre-Covid period, then the registration process should have started by now. NTA is expected to start the registration process for NEET UG 2025 by the last week of February or the first week of March.
