According to media reports, the Union Health Ministry has requested an early hearing from the Supreme Court. A source claims that the Medical Counseling Committee wrote to the Supreme Court to request an early hearing so that counseling can begin for 2021 and information can be provided orally to striking doctors. Explain that there is a shortage of doctors at the hospitals due to this delay. Representatives of striking doctors state that they will continue their strike until the government gives them written assurance on their key demand.

Candidates complain that their whole year was wasted because of the delays in counseling and due to coronavirus second wave and hearing. The second-year candidates have also been put under more pressure due to the non-availability of first-year students. They are required to work for 36 to 36 hours per day. Many doctors went on strike because of this. As of now, residents from Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Gujarat hospitals have joined the strike to protest the issue. Some reports mention doctors also boycotting emergency services.
