The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is likely to begin NEET PG 2023 counselling on July 15, 2023. The MCC has not yet made an official announcement, but media reports suggest that the counselling will begin on this date. The schedule for the counselling will be available on the MCC website, mcc.nic.in.
To be eligible for counselling, candidates must have qualified in NEET PG 2023 with the required cut-off marks. The cut-off marks for different categories will be announced by the MCC. The counselling will be held in four rounds: Round 1, Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Round, and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round.
The Ministry of Health has extended the last date of internship completion for eligibility to August 11, 2023. Earlier the cut-off date for aspirants to complete their mandatory one-year internship was June 30, 2023.

The eligibility criteria for participation in counselling towards allotment of PG seats conducted by designated counseling authority shall be in accordance with the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (as per latest amendment) notified by the NMC/ the erstwhile MCI with prior approval of MoHFW, Govt. of India.
The counselling will be conducted online. Candidates will have to register on the MCC website and fill up the application form. They will also have to upload their documents, such as mark sheets, certificates, and ID proofs.

The counselling will be based on the merit list prepared by the MCC. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the candidate’s NEET PG score and their category.
The counselling will be a seat-liberated process. This means that candidates will be allotted seats in the order of their merit. If a candidate does not get a seat in their preferred college or course, they will be allotted a seat in another college or course.
The counselling process is likely to be a lengthy one. Candidates are advised to keep track of the MCC website for updates on the counselling schedule and process.
