A 20- time-old NEET applicant in Kota tried tone- sacrifice. Police on Thursday said the applicant named Mayank Kumar from Bihar took this drastic step over academic pressure. The incident was reported on Wednesday in the Talwandi area under Jawahar Nagar police station. Mayank set himself ablaze in his paying guest( PG) room.
Mayank was rushed to a sanitarium by caretaker of his PG. Dr Neeraj Devanda from MBS sanitarium( burn unit) said,” Mayank sustained at least 60 per cent burn injuries over the upper portion of his body and face. He was latterly appertained to a advanced medical health center for farther treatment on Thursday morning.
As per Mayank’s father, Sanjay Kumar he talked with him on Wednesday morning and everything was normal.
” I was at Kota Railway station to board a train for Bihar when the caretaker called and informed about the accident. Mayank has come to Kota to pursue studies, still, he didn’t enrol himself in any of the guiding institutes then and was doing tone- studies, he further said,” said Mayank’s father.
The recent self-murders of three scholars preparing for competitive examinations then have touched off a fresh debate over the factors that prompt scholars to take the extreme step.
Pupil self-murder cases in Kota are getting frequent as in 2022, the guiding mecca primarily for engineering and medical entrance examinations like NEET and JEE witnessed the death of around 15 scholars.
