The Central Board of Secondary Education has lost the title of the best-performing board in this year’s medical entrance exam – NEET. For the past few years, most of the toppers and students have been from CBSE. Tamil Nadu’s report analyzing NEET stated that the medical entrance exam was biased towards the central board.

Contrary to this, 66.5 percent of the students who passed the medical entrance exam in 2018 were from state boards. Only 39% of the top 21,000 students who passed the medical entrance exam were from CBSE.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), has published the scan images of NEET 2021’s OMR sheets. NEET-UG 2021 results were announced by the agency on November 1, 2021. The examination was held by the NTA on September 12. The OMR sheets have been released by the agency. Candidates can now download them from the official website.

RAJASTHAN LEADS THE PACK

With 19.8 percent of NEET students hailing from RBSE, Rajasthan Board is the leader. Odisha is next with 14.9 percent of top-ranking students from the Rajasthan Board, while CBSE comes in third with 14.5 percent.

Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are the states with the most candidates in the 1-10,000 rank. Interestingly, Rajasthan and UP are not the only states with more than 6,000 candidates for the 1-1,00,000.000 rank cohort.

Along with 18 other states, Tamil Nadu has seen a decrease in its qualification percentage. The state still has the highest number ever of qualified candidates in the top 1 million.

Many states have seen a decrease in their qualification rates compared to 2019. The qualification rate of Andhra Pradesh dropped 6.2% in comparison to 2019. It was followed by Bihar (6.5%) and Kerala (7.1%). Manipur fell 12.5%. However, this is not the only decline. 18 boards saw a decrease in their qualification rates compared to 2019. This list includes the three national boards CBSE, NIOS, and CISCE.

The RBSE is home to 5,604 students, which are among the top 50,000 rank holders. Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education has 3,330 students. There are 22903 students at the CBSE in the top 50,000. This includes several hundred from Rajasthan. These figures indicate that 10 of 100 top performers are from the state. Ramnivas, a nondescript Bhimtal villager in Barmer, has been awarded the 712th rank in NEET.
