A grand National Seminar and Art Exhibition on the theme “Lord Rama – The Soul of Indian Culture” was organized at M.K.P. (P.G.) College, Dehradun. The event witnessed the distinguished presence of Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran, Vice Chancellor of Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, who was the keynote speaker and the center of attraction.

The seminar was inaugurated by Mr. Khazan Das, MLA Rajpur, while the proceedings were chaired by Mr. Abhinav Shah, IAS, Chief Development Officer, Dehradun. The event was well-coordinated by Dr. Sarita Kumar and Dr. Mamta Singh. Among the prominent dignitaries present were Dr. Rita Tiwari, Dean of Fine Arts & Fashion Design, and Dr. Imran Ahmed, Dean of Arts & Social Sciences.

Delivering his thought-provoking address, Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran shed light on the complete personality of Lord Rama. He emphasized, “Lord Rama is not merely a symbol of religious devotion but a living embodiment of ideal values – as a son, a brother, a husband, and a king. His decisions, leadership qualities, and responsibility towards society continue to serve as guiding lights for today’s youth.”

Dr. Aeran further urged the younger generation to imbibe the values of truth, dignity, sacrifice, and selfless service as reflected in Lord Rama’s life. He remarked that if the youth of India adopt these ideals, the nation will rapidly advance towards reclaiming its status as a Vishwaguru (world leader). He also highlighted the guiding principles of Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University – Education, Service, Values, and Nationalism – underscoring their importance in shaping future citizens.

The audience, comprising students and scholars, listened to his every word with rapt attention. His inspiring speech was repeatedly greeted with thunderous applause, and several participants acknowledged that his address was not only deeply meaningful but also highly relevant in today’s context.

On this occasion, Ms. Pratishtha Bhandari, faculty member of the Fine Arts Department, presented her research paper. The exhibition showcased the artistic brilliance of students from eleven states, with five students from Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University displaying their captivating paintings on the theme of Lord Rama, which won the hearts of all present.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the organizers, who affirmed that the seminar would prove to be a milestone in promoting the essence of Indian culture and in inspiring the youth to walk on the path of values and responsibility.
