Lucknow, April 22 : Founder-Director of City Montessori School and eminent educationist, Dr Bharti Gandhi, was felicitated today for her unparalleled contribution in the field of girl education and women empowerment at a conference of chairpersons of State Commission for Women organized under the aegis of National Commission for Women at the MIT World Peace University, Pune. Additional DGFT of the Department of Commerce, Government of Maharashtra, Mrs. Meeta Rajeev Lochan, IAS felicitated Dr. Bharti Gandhi by presenting her with a citation and a stole. Dr. Gandhi addressed the audience as a keynote speaker in the ‘Leadership Development Program for Chairpersons of State Commission for Women’ organized under the aegis of National Commission for Women. Dr Gandhi said that women’s security and empowerment is the basis for social development. Women are the link on which the whole society rests. Laying special emphasis on the education of the girl child, she said that only educated girls can fulfill their responsibilities in various fields in future and provide a strong leadership to the society.
