*An important initiative towards strengthening higher education and research: Positive message from Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Himanshu Aeran*

In a significant step towards taking higher education, research, and academic excellence to new heights, a *Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)* was signed between the *Department of Political Science, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University, Dehradun, and the **Department of Political Science, Chaman Lal Mahavidyalaya (Autonomous), Landhaura, Haridwar. The college is affiliated with **Sri Dev Suman University*.
This MoU will strengthen cooperation in key areas such as student and faculty exchange, faculty development programmes, skill development, joint research, seminars, workshops, and overall academic advancement. The objective of the agreement is to ensure the shared utilization of the academic strengths of both institutions and to further enhance the quality of education and research.
The gracious presence of the University’s Vice-Chancellor, *Professor Dr. Himanshu Aeran*, was particularly noteworthy on this occasion. Expressing satisfaction over the signing of the MoU, he stated that such academic collaborations would provide students and faculty with excellent academic exposure at the national level and would further strengthen the culture of research and innovation. He emphasized that this agreement would prove to be beneficial for both institutions in the long run.
Under the MoU, student exchange programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate, and research levels will be conducted, along with joint research projects, continuing education programmes, conferences, and short-term courses. The agreement will remain valid for a period of two years and may be extended after mutual review.
The MoU was signed by *Mr. Khalid Hasan, Registrar, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University; **Dr. Sushil Upadhyay, Principal, Chaman Lal Mahavidyalaya (Autonomous); **Dr. Imran Khan, Head, Department of Political Science, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University; and **Dr. Nishu Kumar*, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Chaman Lal Mahavidyalaya.
This MoU will come into effect subject to the approval of the concerned academic and administrative bodies and will provide a new direction to academic collaboration between the two institutions.
