PREPARATION JOURNEY
Nalin’s preparation journey was intense. He studied for nearly 12–13 hours every day. He spent six hours on coaching classes at Allen Career Institute’s Jaipur centre and an additional six to seven hours on self-study.
In his interviews after topping NEET, Nalin spoke abut the importance of multiple readings of NCERT books and analysing past NEET papers to understand question patterns.
During his NEET preparation, Nalin also completely avoided social media and did not even own a smartphone, so he could stay distraction-free.
EDUCATION JOURNEY AND FAMILY BACKGROUND
Nalin comes from a family of doctors. Back in 2019, his father, Dr. Rakesh Khandelwal, was a paediatrician with a private hospital in Sikar, while his mother, Dr. Vanita Khandelwal, was a gynaecologist. His elder brother, Mihit Khandelwal, was pursuing an MBBS at SNMC Medical College in Jodhpur.
Nalin had an impressive academic record before his NEET success. He scored 95.8% in his CBSE Class 12 exams and 92% in Class 10.
He attended Vidhya Bharti Public School in his junior years, followed by St. Mary’s Senior Secondary School in Sikar, and Prince Academy for Classes 11 and 12.
Nalin actively participated in various extracurricular activities throughout school. He took part in skating, cricket, quizzing, dancing, and school parades, and moved to table tennis, debating, acting and music as he got older.
Nalin had not decided on a specialisation back in 2019, but with his internship at MAMC underway, he is steadily moving towards his goal of becoming a doctor.
