Private Doctors as “Visiting Faculty” Can Now teach Medical Students: Health Ministry

NEET Bulletin(New Delhi, Desk): Medical Council of India with the approval of the Government of India, Medical colleges are now allowed to appoint private doctors as “visiting faculty” Union Government announced this Tuesday. The approval has been given with a view to enhance the quality and comprehensiveness of teaching in the medical education said Ashwini Kumar Choubey Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in Rajya Sabha this Tuesday.
Minister also mentioned Board of Governors in supersession of Medical Council of India, with previous approval of Government of India, amended the Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998, allowing Medical Institutions or Colleges to appoint private doctors as “Visiting Faculty”.
