No test centre set up in Kashmir for AIIMS New Delhi UG aspirants

Authorities at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi have not set up any centre in Kashmir for the aspirants set to appear in the tests for the under-graduate courses.
The undergraduate exams are scheduled to be conducted on May 26.
Earlier, the aspirants of PG courses at AIIMS had sought the intervention of the governor-led administration after no test centres were set up in the valley.
“The authorities conducting AIIMS undergraduate entrance exam have not set up exam centre in Srinagar. It is not possible for the candidates to travel to Jammu for appearing in the exams,” said Imtiyaz Qazi, an aspirant of AIIMS UG exams.
Over the years, the exam conducting bodies of national level competitive exams have ignored valley in allotment of exam centres causing inconvenience to the aspirants.
Earlier in February a batch of 500 students missed GATE-2019 exams as no centre was allotted in Kashmir for the first phase of the exams (GATE). Later, six centres were set up in valley to enable students for appearing the exams within valley.
“This trend should end once and for all.  Kashmir should not be excluded in allotment of exam centres in national level competitive exams,” said an aspirant.
