NEET Bulletin (New Delhi, Desk) : A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Faridkot based Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) and Bathinda based All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to run a rural health & training centre (RHTC) to be set up at civil hospital of village Badal, the native village of ex chief minister Parkash Singh Badal aiming to provide affordable quality health services at rural centre.
BFUHS Vice Chancellor Dr. Raj Bahadur and PGIMER director Dr. Jagat Ram have signed the MoU. An urban centre will be opened later. Presently PGIMER director is officiating as director of AIIMS as well. As the complete infrastructure has not been set up at the AIIMS, the first session of AIIMS students is being held at BFUHS campus at Faridkot.
Under the MoU, the BFUHS shall Allie teaching and training of undergraduate and post graduate students in the premises of civil hospital, Badal which shall be declared as RHTC of AIIMS as it lies in the deep rural area in Punjab.
As per agreement the students shall work under faculty of AIIMS. The senior Medical Officer of civil hospital Badal shall coordinate working of the health centre.
