National Board of Examination (NBE) has released the notice on the official website regarding the changes in the DNB Broad Specialty admission. According to the notification, Diplomate of National Board – Centralized Entrance Test (DNB CET) June / July exam has been scrapped. The admission to DNB Broad Specialty and Post MBBS Direct 6 years super specialty courses will take place only once a year using NEET PG Merit List.

The recent modification is applicable from the current year. Thus, the June / July for DNB CET 2019 will not carry out. Until last year, the admission to DNB Broad Specialty used to take place twice a year. First in January using NEET PG. Second, in July session via the entrance examination. Now, from the year 2019, the examination will not conduct in any session. The admission will be solely on the basis of NEET PG in January month only.

DNB CET examination takes place for admission to Post MBBS or post graduation courses. It also consists of a 6-year specialty course of Cardio Surgery, Neuro-Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, and Plastic Surgery courses. As per the eligibility criteria, candidates interested in DNB Broad Speciality must have MBBS degree/Provisional Pass certificate.

Candidates aspiring for DNB CET 2019 June / July session must make a special note of the new announcement. Now, the examination will not be held. More clarification regarding this is yet to be released by NBE. Previously, the admission to the January 2019 session was carried using the NEET PG merit list.

Along with that, a candidate must have a permanent/provisional registration certificate of MBBS issued by Medical Council of India / State Medical Council. Also, aspiring candidates must have done a one-year internship before the specified date. The allotment of seats will conduct as per the rules of NEET PG and merit position.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Post Graduate (NEET-PG) is a national level examination conducted by NBE. It conducts for admission to fill MD/MS/ PG Diploma seats in India. All postgraduate medical seats are filled via NEET PG. However, JIPMER, NIMHANS, AIIMS, PGIMER, and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences &Technology are excluded from the list.

The application form for it releases online at nbe.edu with an application fee of Rs 3750/- and Rs 2750/- for General / OBC and SC/ST respectively. The NEET PG is a computer-based examination of 210 minutes. It consists of 300 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question carries 4 marks with a negative marking of ¼ marks.
